Our story
I'm Lacy. I've been a working singer for more than twenty-five years — soul and blues, back-to-back live shows, weekends on the road, weeks where my voice was the only thing between the band and a cancelled room.

What nobody told me, and what the labels definitely didn't tell me, is that menthol and eucalyptus don't soothe a throat. They numb it. They suppress the very sensation singers use to read fatigue, swelling, and strain in real time. So every throat drop I took to get through a two-set Friday was the reason my Saturday matinee warm-up felt worse than Thursday's. I was medicating the feedback signal, not the problem.
When I started formulating ThroatVoices in 2024, the first decision was the easiest: nothing that numbs. Every blend is menthol- and eucalyptus-free. The botanicals are straightforward — slippery elm, marshmallow root, ginger, licorice, chamomile — chosen for what they do (coat, soothe, calm, clear), not because they taste like a mint. I wanted a throat tea that told the truth.
This page exists because building a brand without telling you who's behind it felt dishonest. If something here doesn't hold up — an ingredient, a claim, a co-packer — I'd rather hear about it directly than have you assume the worst. Email is open in the footer of every page on this site.
Why menthol-free
Menthol and eucalyptus both work by numbing sensation. For singers and speakers, that means losing the feedback signal that tells you when your cords are fatiguing, swelling, or straining under load. A throat product that masks the signal can do more harm than the dryness it's covering up.
Every ThroatVoices blend is menthol- and eucalyptus-free — no exception, no small-print asterisk. The full reasoning, plus what we use instead, is in the menthol-free FAQ.
Research artifacts
We're publishing the underlying research as it lands — co-packer evaluations, supplier scorecards, and the menthol-free compliance rationale. Each artifact is a real document, not marketing copy; it links out the moment it goes live.
